The millenials will need deeper basements in Mom's basement for the next generation!

Higher ceilings maybe?

What would they do in California, live in garage?

Lima Peru suburbs have these Legovilles basically red brick square structures,
The next generation builds the next floor. 15 years ago the average ones were 1 to 2 floors with several 3 floor units around.
Now most are 3 to 4 floors high.

I have no problem with this, if one or all of my kids wanted to go in with creating a compound or multifamily dwelling I'd be good to go. I'm not that old but I'd love to be a grandparent that helps taking care of grandchildren for bonding and relieving the strain of raising kids.

A grandparent has a love attachment. They generally don't do what is best for the grandkids unless it's giving them money. No discipline or too much because they get annoyed.

Having 3 kids with Grandmas it's not always good to have them around. They don't have to deal with the day to day hustle of getting kids ready for anything and as a dad I wouldn't want the interference. My dad was a prick to my sons. It would have been toxic. My kids are the wife and I's canvas. I've vowed not to be my dad and it's working out.

My MIL is an alcoholic that basically tells us we do everything wrong. My 4 SIL's suck at life so I really don't need their mother around my kids.

They could see each other or have them watch them on a trip or go to a game, but I couldn't have them living on the same property daily. That would be pure misery.

My parents and mother inlaw haven't been very good grandparents but they are also boomers and were not really very good parents if I was going to be honest. But my grandparents were awesome they loved having me and taking me places. I spent a lot of time hanging out with both sets of my grandparents, that's what I want for my grandchildren when my kids get older. It sounds like we are similar in that we broke with the way our parents existed.
