Lithuania has announced it will build a barrier on the border with Belarus and deploy troops to prevent migrants from illegally crossing into its territory.

Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte said more than 1,000 migrants had been held after crossing along the 679km (422-mile) border since 1 June.

E. Europe is quite stingy when it comes to migrants, which is main reason why they prefer Germany...

I randomly talked to a guy from Croatia - at first he said "nobody would want to come to Croatia" but when pressed he admitted that Germany has better welfare than Croatia and that's the real reason the "refugees" go there.

Free shit, paid for by the German taxpayers that have been shamed about what, maybe, happened in WWII.

"Free Shit" does not fly as easily in E. Europe as they were under communists for quite a while, and, in general, countries are more poor than in W. Europe. So welfare system is not as supporting as in West, and nearly all migrants avoid E. Europe. Which once again shows the driving force for most immigration.

Note that Poland has about 2-3M Ukrainian immigrants, but those came to work and are culturally similar to Polish people, so they don't really have any issues.

Four U.S. soldiers who went missing while training in Lithuania have died, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters during a trip to Warsaw, Rutte said he had received word of the deaths of the four American troops.

“This is still early news so we do not know the details. This is really terrible news and our thoughts are with the families and loved ones,” Rutte said, as reported by The Associated Press.

The news comes only hours after it was initially reported the four American soldiers were missing.

U.S. Army Europe and Africa said that the missing troops were part of the Army’s 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division and were in a training area close to the Lithuanian city of Pabradė, a town less than 6 miles west of the border with Belarus.

the CNN article says the armored vehicle the missing 4 US Army soldiers were in was found submerged in water

This article was published after the article in post 7 above, and it states the soldiers are missing and there is a search for them. I don't understand why NATO said prior that the 4 American soldiers died.

But the USA Today article states: "NATO had to walk back a false confirmation of the solders' death after Secretary General Mark Rutte spoke in Poland."
