I never got why anyone thought it would be a currency as far as crypto. People have made good money and I don't begrudge that really, though I think it's stupid. I'm a buy the average SUV guy and not Ferrari. I don't mind if I grow wealth slowly and with a Ferrari there's a chance you'll wreak it, as in lose a lot of money in crypto.

OTOH I have never seen anyone use gold or silver as a currency either.
Bitcoin was about $300-400 in circa 2014.
