Probably a lot of the costs were sunk and they estimated it was more economically advantageous to go ahead with finishing production and distributing the Snow White movie.

Its first week box office receipts are around $89 million versus a budget of about $240 million. My guess it will lose at least $80 million.

Disney made $1.7 Billion from Inside Out 2 in 2024 with a $200 billion budget so I estimate they made at least a $550 million profit from that movie.

That likely compensated for the hundreds of millions of losses in 2024 from the rest of its movies that were flops.

I've been following Disney stock for at least 25 years.

Disney is at the same stock price as in January 2015 and its dividend is only around 1%, and its down +50% from its all time high set in 2021 :-/

I think on this movie they did a lot of rewrites and stuff, dragging out the timeline and costs. Just one factor though.

Lol. I was talking about producers, managers and agents. They're no different than attorneys. They want a retainer up front. We thought we could do it without them.

I had kids, no on else did, so I moved on since it didn't seem like it was going anywhere. My wife also hated it. 2-3am nights, 3-4 days a week practicing. It stopped becoming fun, especially being the drummer. The other guys could set up in 10 minutes with two loads. I was a half hour and carrying 5-7 loads from the car. They'd be outside where we loaded just smoking and having a great time while I was still working. So I was done.

Still play occasionally, but it burned me out while I had a full time job at the same time.
