Before you lambast me, hear me out. My daughter is a former federal employee who was terminated by the current administration. She was young in her career and has struggled to find work since her termination. Not only can she not afford her apartment without a paycheck, she also cannot afford the upkeep of her two cats. We have been caring for them on her behalf but we are ourselves moving out of the Bay Area permanently and cannot take the cats with us. She has tried everything she knows of to arrange for them to be re-homed but has been unsuccessful. Our move date is imminent and we are trying to avoid surrendering them to a shelter. Can anyone help? Do you know of anyone looking for a cat (or two) or who is willing to foster them in an effort to re-home them permanently? They are absolutely lovely cats, about 11 years old--one an orange male and the other a black female. I would appreciate only constructive responses as this situation has been incredibly hard on everyone involved.

I don't think cats should be of concern if she lost her job. Sounds like house cats, but cats know how to survive outside. Let them loose out in the country especially in your climate. Farmers like them to take care of rodents.

Having a roof over her head is probably more important is my point. Make a list, set priorities. Cats shouldn't be in the top 3.

Glad to hear you're getting out of the Bay Area. Hopefully a lower cost of living place. I know I won't get a response, but this is my feedback.

Check online as there are cat rescues for the Bay Area that will rescue cats and find foster homes for them like Wonder Cat Rescue, Andrea's Dream Rescue, and Cat Town.

Rat Race Rebellion is a good website as well as Work At Home Job Queen

Both seem to be legit for side hustles and gigs to help with cash flow

That reminds me, would love Trump to pass a contractor law that requires a $1M license to hire non-Americans, even for temp work.

Online gig work from America, should only be open to Americans, not Indians or Croatians.

A startup is free to hire a Croatian graphic designer, at $10/hr plus $1,000,000 license fee.

The Croatian isn't paying into Soc Sec, not paying federal taxes, and most importantly not recycling almost all his income back into the US domestic economy.

I can hear a free trader thinking "Oh, but the Coca-Cola bottler in split made 0.01 USD back to Coke for the licensing when Marko brought a Coke. So hurr durr, it does come back to duh USA, hurr durr"

"What happens to that hundredth of a penny"
"Most of it goes to large funds and some into the Coca-Cola Atlanta Fuck Whitey Fund for Racial Balancing"

Poor little animals. I hope people see this one-two punch: Obama/"Biden" sucking gullible youngsters into bureaucratic jobs on the false promise of waiving educational debt from their grossly overpriced college education, then the system lays them off before the 10yr or whatever mark is reached. Your daughter was relatively lucky in that she didn't get sucked into buying a house at the top of the market and paying ridiculously high rent on borrow money and rent to the town/city as property tax, and rent to the insurance company, far more than a single person or newly wed couple need to rent, then getting foreclosed in an inevitable down-turn. Those advocating for more taxes and welfare generosity should take care of their own kids first.

.

I am sorry to hear this about your daughter. What agency did she work at and what was her specialty ? Was she a GS 12 ?

The way Trump is managing is that he is slamming on the breaks and not tapping them. I think he's trying to make as much reforms as quickly as possible.

Trump's not taking 2 steps forward, but more like 10 steps forward because his administration acts as though a Democrat (with RINO support) after Trump will enthusiastically take 4 steps back and return to Birdbrain Biden era policies.

Ask Bill Clinton if he still believes what he said about China and the free trade agreement back in 2000.

If she hadn't wasted her youth and (possible) beauty riding the cock carousel, she would be happily married to a good man and raising her several children.

I'm sorry for her loss, but she could have helped herself to a better life far sooner with proper parental guidance.

Cats are semi-feral, they'll do all right. I'd be more concerned it dogs were involved; fortunately, her solipsism took a break for her to realize that she couldn't handle dogs.

My friends have barn cats. I'll probably see them tonight. None of their cats have died in two years. They have 3 horses and they keep rodents away from the horses (cats). Win win. Only a 5 acre farmette but they stay on the property.

You can toss pretty much any cat on a property with land and they'll stay near by. Problem with cats is I'd give a rough guess that 40% of people are allergic. You really shouldn't have them in your house. Some dogs as well. All indoor cats are trash though in my opinion. Just let them run. Your daughter needs to focus on a new job not cats.

Bay Area and especially the Peninsula have animal rescues that look really nice paid for by the local Silicon Valley oligarch types and their catty/doggy wives. There was one where we got our current dog (a chihuahua/Papillon mix) who had been in intensive care for a month from negligence but recovered. It was supported by Larry Ellison's wife or some such and claimed to never put a dog down.

If only people got such largesse.
