Since we know the numbers are going to suck since Peppermint Patty is leading the Amen Corner Media to blame Putin for it:
https://patrick.net/post/1344548/2022-04-11-putin-s-price-hike-failing-administrati

Frankly, I prefer my spaceship to have big tits and not fake inflated ones.

EDIT - numbers drop:
America goes back to the 80s: Surging gas prices and higher rents push inflation to 41-year high of 8.5% as White House blames it on Putin invading Ukraine
The consumer price index rose 8.5% in March from a year ago, the fastest increase since December 1981
Housing costs, which make up about a third of the index, have escalated and show no signs of cooling
Gasoline prices soared 49% in March from a year ago as the war in Ukraine rocked energy markets
Biden's administration tried to get ahead of the dire inflation news by blaming Russian leader Vladimir Putin
But Republicans place the blame for soaring prices on 'Democrats' reckless spending and failed policies'

This is not good. We need to restore the value of the dollar and not admit
defeat by eliminating the penny. Besides, the Globalists want to eliminate
the dollar. Is this where we are headed?

From Boca Raton News in 1976 ... $50 in 1976 is around $280 in today's money

Huffy started to make bikes in the USA around 1890's. It had plants in Ohio, Oklahoma and California. It shut down USA manufacturing in 1999.

yeah just noticed at Walmart that the Great Value brand for the chocolate bar that is similar to Snickers is now at 4 bars instead of 5 bars but still same price of $2.56

they switched from 5 to 4 bars recently

its going to be interesting to see the inflation numbers through February 2026

I just pray the manufacturing jobs, trade deficit and federal deficit numbers for 2025 look a lot better than Birdbrain Biden's 2024 numbers

.

Maybe with all this smaller portion packaging we will see some waistline shrinkflation as well.

I agree, but what we really need is a return to physical silver coins.

That was the anchor which prevented the Fed from inflating the currency into nothingness.

Rent going up

https://www.barrons.com/articles/apartment-glut-ending-demand-rising-rents-headed-up-ab2ade9d

The high cost of buying a home makes renting look good in comparison. As demand intensifies, rent hikes are on the horizon.

With house prices still high, mortgage rates stuck just under 7%, and plenty of economic uncertainty, consumers are once again seeing the virtues of renting. Over a third of respondents told Fannie Mae in April that they would rent instead of buy if they had to move, the highest share since October and more than the long-term average of one in three.

Rent growth slowed over the past several years as the largest surge of new multifamily buildings in decades began working its way onto the market. But that is beginning to ebb. Multifamily construction completions peaked at a roughly five-decade high last August, and are down 28% since then, census data show.

“Apartment fundamentals are past peak pain,” says David Kirshenbaum, the assistant portfolio manager of the $2.06 billion Baron Real Estate Fund. “As fundamentals improve, and as demand continues, many landlords are already talking about the possibility of additional rent spikes if we look out over the next 12 to 24 months.”

Those costs are "sunk costs" as far as the deployment to the Middle East; they were already going to spend the money as they were approved by Congress and signed by Biden into appropriations law.

You will know if Trump asks Congress for more money related to the attack on Iran.

So let's see in January of next year how the deficit is for FY 2025 and also the debt to GDP ratio.

One good news item is at least the debt to GDP ratio has settled around 120% ; it was around 109% in January 2020.

Nonsense. Trump is starting another useless war because Iran has
Weapons of Mass Destruction. Sounds familiar?
1724   RayAmerica   2025 Jun 22, 11:03am

Officially, the National Debt is now over $37 TRILLION and counting. On top of that, add another $150 TRILLION in off budget obligations.

How many more $ TRILLIONS is this war with Iran going to cost? Any guesses??

What makes you think its going to cost more than already what is budgeted for FY 2025 and proposed for FY 2026 ? Maybe the bunker buster bombs already were earmarked to be used in the Middle East when their inventory reached as least 20 bombs during the B.O. admin (2009 to 2017).

Yeah. Trump likes to go out to the tool shed and get some tools. Then they'll throw out that is was a $2B attack. Funny, that was paid over 10 years ago under another Congress and POTUS. Trump USED $2B of supplies in the shed. Media sucks and lies.

I do love that Trump draped the F bomb on camera knowing it would be recorded. I swear a lot, but that was straight up honesty. He's pissed off. Sometimes those words are needed. I'm pretty sure all nations know the work fuck. I'm calling it the fuck heard round the world.... lol.

Median price for a detached single family home in St Petersburg, FL is around $425,000.

So would need at least $125,000 in annual household income to afford that and have enough disposable income (assuming at most a 5% down payment).

Didn’t make him happy.

Proving that inflation exists does not mean buying a house is a bad idea. If one is going to be staying in an area for several years, buying a house is a good hedge against that inflation.

They do. The effect was offset by lower gasoline and used car prices, so the headline number came up prettier than it should have been. And it's still early to see full effect due to tacoing and companies building up inventories prior to tariffs going into effect.
