Wookieman - you're building your new house. Look into AVSforum for recs to set up a home theater. You're handy, so you can do it for relatively ($20K) cheap to probably get a $100K theater. A lot of it is, surprisingly, sound, not video. I'd recommend JVC for the PJ, audio is to taste, although Rythmik, Danley, and JTR have some pretty good offerings as far as bowel-shaking (nod to Cake) bass.
I haven't been to a movie theater since Summer of 2022, and that was with my nephew who wanted to see some Marvel movie, I think Dr Strange 2. It was okay, and I got to enjoy a day with my nephew in California who I only see maybe once a year when I travel back to that forsaken state.
With Rogan, like him or not, I think he's creating a legit bigger industry than Hollywood with comedy. And they can still make movies. It's cheaper and they can make more. It's not some action movie with all sorts of shit you have to do daily to shoot.
I can't remember..oh wait!
Alien: Romulus
And before that, Dune: Part Two
(Dune: Part One came out during Covid. So I could only watch that at home at the time.)
Before that, Civil War
I'm waiting for the day when movie releases come out for streaming immediately
Where have you been, dude? That started during Covid and has continued.
Either they are released simultaneously or after a few weeks. It's more of the former than the latter, lately.
I watched Gladiator 2 with my son.
It was entertaining, if not spectacular. The plot was a bit thin, but I guess it worked. The visuals were amazing.
Sometimes movies seem to inspire the globalists:
What was the last movie you physically went to a movie theater for?
I feel like all film is trash now. So interested if there's still something good out there. I'll watch older movies at home, but I think it's been 5 years since hitting up a movie theater. Not sure how they exist.
