Trump knows more than he did this time than last. Has had time to plan. He was strategic. When you have 4 years off and have time after your kids basically run your companies, you can consult with a lot of people.

I don't know anyone that knows anything about this young adult. But didn't a committee have to approve this or was it a DHS decision? There will always be terrorist attacks. Targeting US citizens would be foolish. Iran is seeing what their funded attack on Israel did. No other country is going to want to be involved, that's all saber rattling, China or Russia.

We also don't have to send troops. We can make Iran unlivable without a nuke, targeted strikes on infrastructure, minimal and potentially no civilian casualties and no international laws broken, but let's be honest who cares? Europe doesn't want a nuke weapon in Iran. And if Iran attacks the US directly that triggers whatever the NATO pact is. Iran cannot stop all of Europe basically and the US.

TL:DR - I think this appointment is a big nothing burger and it will be fine.
