This is the dumbest country on earth. We’ve destroyed ourselves.

With the 1st pick in the 2025 Alligator Alcatraz draft...

The Libs are choosing the wrong side of yet another 80/20 issue again:

Really? A detention center that is safe, clean, air conditioned, and prevents the law breakers from escaping is somehow a bad thing?
10   Ceffer   2025 Jul 2, 10:29pm

It's very suspicious. Trump visited and re-named it "Alligator MacDonalds".

Technically spoiled. Will probably be better than their life on the outside or back in their home country. All the things you mention, oh and free food and water, rent free for all this stuff. Well you, I and every tax paying citizen will pay for it.

And if you leave, you get a free flight. Some Americans have never even flown on a plane or even gone on vacation. Usually it's a trip to the nearby waterpark or camping locally. Many will never even see a gator outside of maybe a zoo visit. Shit for free I'd move in as long as it's not an ass rape type place.

Reality is they have to be as humane as possible. Yes a lot of people would be in one structure which has its issues. But I've got 3 kids. They're willing to work. Not the youngest yet. But I want them to have money by 18. My goal for them is $20k. We know a lot of people so a lot of that will be graduation money. If they can earn $15k over the next 4 years that's a good start. Illegals make it harder for young kids to get work.

It's classic media trying to get clicks and views. Trump is Hitler. No. Jews weren't illegal, Hitler just didn't like them. Some of which may have been warranted. We have laws, they didn't follow them, they can leave. Takes time though so you detain and put them somewhere. Shelter, water, food, etc.

Waterpark behind fence is "all you can eat" Gator beanery.

Good point.

I think it's great and also a hilarious name for the detention center.

Nobody in there wants to escape, but if so, it's like French Guiana in that book/movie Papillon.

There are invasive pythons out there and you don't want to be swallowed whole.

I’d be grossly in favor of planting people in there to convince inmates to try escaping. I propose a reality show along the lines of Running Man. Get Pat Sajak out of retirement or recruit Steve Harvey(I think he even voted for Trump) and follow the escapees. An alligator (or better yet python) attack would be epic!
17   REpro   2025 Jul 3, 10:09pm

Now passed BBB require 80 hours work per month to qualify for Medicaid. Army of replacement cherry pickers are just created.

Pay per view. May the best alligator win.

Since the alligators are working 80 hours per month, do we need to pay their Medicaid?

https://nypost.com/2025/07/03/us-news/dems-railing-against-trump-budget-bills-medicaid-reforms-have-backed-work-requirements-themselves/

Dems railing against Trump budget bill’s Medicaid reforms have backed work requirements themselves

One of congressional Democrats’ main charges against the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is that millions will lose Medicaid and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits due to new work requirements.

But despite their complaints, many top Democrats championed similar work requirement measures for entitlement programs in the past.

“We are too familiar with the stories of welfare mothers driving luxury cars and leading lifestyles that mirror the rich and famous,” then-Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) wrote in a 1988 piece for his home state’s Newark Post.

“We have an obligation to help society’s less fortunate receive the education, training and transitional services they need to work their way out of poverty. In return, we expect a commitment from them to do all they can to succeed in becoming productive members of their communities.”

By the mid-1990s, Biden regularly implored Congress to “require all welfare recipients to sign a contract in which they agree to work in exchange for their benefits.” ...

The Act implements an 80 hour-per-month work requirement to access Medicaid for able-bodied adults who are younger than 65 and have children age 15 and older.

Apparently, this claim is false and there is no work requirement to access Medicaid in the bill, per Jeff Childers, though maybe he's conflating Medicaid (poor) and Medicare (elderly):

Second, liberal critics hysterically cry that it cuts Medicare for the neediest citizens! But all anyone has to do is read the bill, and that lie is easily exposed. All the bill includes are commonsense tweaks to eligibility for welfare, like minimal work requirements for able-bodied recipients. The reason you’ll never see any actual bill language quoted by critics is because it’s simply not there.

Illegals not collecting Medicaid and other benefits... and being removed from the country. Sure they'll get food, water and healthcare while they're being processed, but once gone, they're gone. At least with this administration. We'll see what 2028 brings.

Seems like everyone just believed the media about Medicaid cuts that are not actually in the bill.
